I formatted my pc a week ago and yesterday i installed avi recomp. I am trying to put subs in an .avi file, but i cant. When it goes to the first pass, it fails. Below is the log:

What is the problem? I installed again and again avi recomp and all the programs that are included (vobsub, xvid, avisynth) but the same happened every time.. I tried to do the same job with another .avi, but i got the same message.
Finally i made it. What was needed was not to select the option decode fourCC in the xvid installation and selecting the option textsub from filters, in vobsub installation.
Unfortunately i didnt. I made it with a movie (i put subs), but now i tried to do this again with another and it failed again. The log is the same as the first i posted. I reinstalled xvid, but nothing. What is the problem? I didnt do anything with avirecomp or the other programs since i finished succesfully the last job.
If your log is the same and you got the same error message, then I bet this time you have incorrect SRT subs. Try to save your subs in ASS or SSA format. Just convert them using Subtitle Workshop, Subtitle Processor or SubRip. Or just download a different subs. It happens quite often so you don't have to worry - you are not alone
