I finally found the time to release a new version.

The new version (1.5.4) contains a few bug fixes, improvements and library updates.

As for your problem, it is the most common issue reported and is dealt with in a "sticky post" at the beginning of this sub forum. I really do not understand why you do not bother to read information that is clearly presented for your benefit.

Absolutely right! Some applications are really difficult to detect. The main reason is that their developers don't care about versioning their apps. And that's why we have to use various sophisticated methods searching for the version info.
Probably some changes have been implemented to the ffdshow installer.
I will see what I can do to fix it.

Okay, well. I already have that version of FFDShow installed. It still says "ffdshow: undetected (probably not installed)". But you say that doesn't matter. I find that odd but I will take your word for it.
The reason for the detection is solely to provide info on how your system is configured should you submit a log file for the purpose of obtaining technical assistance. When we introduced this feature we found we got different results according to the OS in use and the version of ffdshow installed. It was a bit of a nightmare.

In your case should you need to submit a log file for some reason just remember to delete 'ffdshow not detected' and then no one will tell you to install ffdshow.
