Problem with AVI Recomp

Hi guys.

I posted before and now I'm writing again and I think that it is the same problem as before.
Anyway, I use AVIRecomp to hardsub my videos. However, I found out that it works for certain videos and it wont work for some.
For those videos which doesnt work, it will show "DirectShowSource: Could not open as video or audio" when i click preview.
For those which works, it will play the video when i click preview.

Thinking that it is a codec problem for those which doesnt work, I used AVIcodec to compare the codec of the videos which work and the videos which doesnt.

What I found out is that for those video with codec, H264, i cant use avi recomp for it and whenever i click preview, it will show "DirectShowSource: Could not open as video or audio"

However, for the video with XVID M peg-4 codec, it works perfectly fine.
Hope that you guys can solve my problem. If you need more information, do tell.

Avi ReComp x264 to Avi

I mean, I'd really like to see inside Avi ReComp the possibility to be able to open any kind of video file, especially those having the codec x264 (mkv, mp4). Of course, you might say I want to transform Avi ReComp in a total video converter. Not quite... cause the result will be only one: an Avi file. So Avi ReComp will remain an avi recomp, but with a nice quality result, in confront with the thousands converters that can be found on Internet.

DirectShowSource: Could not open as video or audio

Hi. I'm trying to sub my avi video and i seem to have a problem doing so.
I have open the video in the source file and set my output destination. After which, I load my soft subs which is in srt format. Add to queue and after pressing start, the status shows "failed" and states "Source file not found".
I'm not sure if this is a codec problem. But I have checked my video using Avicodec and it confirms that I have the right codec installed for the video to work. Furthermore, I'm able to play the video on windows media player.

Hope that you can solve this problem
